Description
The Atlas Copco GA 110 is the fixed speed model where the GA 90+-160 oil-injected platform opens its full pressure ladder. It pairs a SmartInjection compression element with an oil-cooled motor of IE4 class, and its four versions per frequency run from a 5.5 bar low pressure network up to a 10 bar / 150 psi plant line. The Full Feature branch adds an integrated refrigerant dryer to the same package.
Where the GA 110 Sits in the Oil-Injected Range
The GA 90+-160 platform forms the upper end of the oil-injected screw range, and the GA 110 is its lightest fixed speed frame. That position makes it the natural first machine of the big platform class: the duty continuity and service concept of the larger GA 132 and GA 160 models, in the smallest package and the lightest footprint the series builds.
Thousands of GA compressors run around the world in this duty class, and the installations concentrate where compressed air works around the clock: general industry, mining, power plants, metal plants and cement works. The jobs range from pneumatic tools, actuators and valves to ventilation, packing and palletizing machinery, soot blowing, fly ash handling and the pneumatic conveying of raw materials.
Two cooling layouts share the same platform. The air-cooled package releases the compression heat into the ambient air through its cooler section, while the water-cooled package connects to a cooling-water loop on site. The rated figures of the GA 110 apply across both layouts, so the choice comes down to the infrastructure the plant already has.
What the Pack and FF Names Cover
Two names describe the scope of the GA 110, and each adds one fact:
- Pack — the standard package: the compressor with its coolers, drives and controls, ready for a plant that dries its air with separate equipment.
- FF — Full Feature: the package integrates a refrigerant dryer, so drying happens inside the compressor rather than beside it, with no additional installation work for wires and pipes.
The GA 110 is built as the GA 110 – 5.5 bar, – 7.5 bar, – 8.5 bar and – 10 bar versions at 50 Hz, and as the GA 110 – 75 psi, – 100 psi, – 125 psi and – 150 psi versions at 60 Hz. Every version combines with both scopes, so a plant picks the pressure band first and the depth of air treatment second.

Rated Data at 50 Hz
Each 50 Hz version of the GA 110 is listed at one rated point with its FAD measured at the corresponding reference working pressure: 5 bar for the 5.5 bar version, 7 bar for the 7.5 bar version, 8 bar for the 8.5 bar version and 9.5 bar for the 10 bar version:
| Model | Maximum working pressure | FAD reference | FAD (l/s) | FAD (m³/min) | FAD (cfm) | Noise |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GA 110 – 5.5 bar | 5.5 bar(e) / 80 psig | 5.3 bar(e) / 77 psig | 424 | 25.4 | 898 | 77 dB(A) |
| GA 110 – 7.5 bar | 7.5 bar(e) / 109 psig | 7.3 bar(e) / 106 psig | 370 | 22.2 | 784 | 77 dB(A) |
| GA 110 – 8.5 bar | 8.5 bar(e) / 123 psig | 8.3 bar(e) / 120 psig | 347 | 20.8 | 735 | 77 dB(A) |
| GA 110 – 10 bar | 10 bar(e) / 145 psig | 9.8 bar(e) / 142 psig | 316 | 19.0 | 670 | 77 dB(A) |
The installed motor power stays at 110 hp across all four versions, and the sound level holds at 77 dB(A) at the work station. The 5.5 bar version delivers the highest flow at 424 l/s (898 cfm), and moving up the pressure ladder to the 10 bar version trims the flow to 316 l/s (670 cfm). That spread across four bands lets a plant match the compressor to its real network pressure instead of over-pressurizing the whole system for one consumer.
Rated Data at 60 Hz
The 60 Hz versions keep the four-version structure, with the pressure bands written in psi and the motor rated at 150 hp. FAD is measured at 73 psi for the 75 psi version and at the version pressure for the 100, 125 and 150 psi versions:
| Model | Maximum working pressure | FAD reference | FAD (l/s) | FAD (m³/min) | FAD (cfm) | Noise |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GA 110 – 75 psi | 5.5 bar(e) / 80 psig | 5.3 bar(e) / 77 psig | 425 | 25.5 | 901 | 77 dB(A) |
| GA 110 – 100 psi | 7.4 bar(e) / 107 psig | 7.2 bar(e) / 104 psig | 372 | 22.3 | 788 | 77 dB(A) |
| GA 110 – 125 psi | 9.1 bar(e) / 132 psig | 8.9 bar(e) / 129 psig | 333 | 20.0 | 706 | 77 dB(A) |
| GA 110 – 150 psi | 10.9 bar(e) / 158 psig | 10.7 bar(e) / 155 psig | 298 | 17.9 | 631 | 77 dB(A) |
The 75 psi version peaks at 425 l/s (901 cfm), and the 150 psi version delivers 298 l/s (631 cfm). At 60 Hz reference conditions, the pressure dew point of the integrated refrigerant dryer sits between 2°C and 3°C (36°F to 37°F).
Dimensions and Weight
The footprint of the GA 110 depends on the branch, and the integrated dryer of the Full Feature adds length to the package:
| Branch | Weight | Dimensions (L × W × H) |
|---|---|---|
| GA 110, Pack | 2,700 kg / 5,952 lb (50 Hz); 2,600 kg / 5,732 lb (60 Hz) | 2,500 × 1,785 × 2,020 mm (98.5 × 70.3 × 79.5 in) |
| GA 110, Full Feature | 3,100 kg / 6,834 lb (50 Hz); 3,050 kg / 6,724 lb (60 Hz) | 2,900 × 1,785 × 2,020 mm (114.2 × 70.3 × 79.5 in) |
The Full Feature package is 400 mm longer than the Pack, because the refrigerant dryer module rides inside the same canopy. Width and height are shared at 1,785 mm and 2,020 mm, so floor planning comes down to the length difference between the two branches.

The Fixed Speed Pack Drive Train
The fixed speed pack concentrates on doing one job without detours. SmartInjection meters the exact amount of oil the compression element needs, so the element works at peak efficiency across the operating conditions, and a separate oil flow feeds the bearings for longer life and greater uptime. The motor is an oil-cooled unit of IE4 class that requires no service interventions, and the oil circuit that cools it belongs to the same loop that conditions the element.
IP66 Protection and Ambient Capability
The drive train of the GA 110 is IP66 rated, which seals it completely against environmental dust and moisture. That rating is what lets the compressor run reliably in the toughest conditions: cement dust, mine particulates and humid intake air stay outside the drive train. The package operates at ambient temperatures up to 55°C / 131°F, and the high ambient variant extends the fixed speed pack to 55°C for continuous duty in hot and humid climates.
Full Feature: The Integrated Refrigerant Dryer
In the GA 110 Full Feature, the refrigeration dryer is fully integrated in the compressor unit. The all-in-one layout reduces the floor space needed for the compressor room and removes the piping installation work a standalone dryer requires. The typical pressure dew point of the refrigerant dryer is 3°C (37.4°F) at reference conditions, and the dew point is continuously monitored while the machine runs.
Save Cycle Control and Oil Separation
The unique and patented Save Cycle Control stops the dryer whenever the compressor is stopped or in unload mode, which cuts the power consumption of the air treatment side. On the oil side, the separator uses multiple smaller cartridges instead of one large drum, which simplifies and shortens the service work and minimizes oil carry over into the air stream.

Monitoring and Control
The Elektronikon Touch controller runs the GA 110 and keeps the pressure band where the plant needs it. The controller manages the load and unload pattern of the fixed speed machine, watches the operating temperatures, and stores the service counters that decide the next intervention. Over the ethernet connection, SMARTLINK adds remote monitoring of the machine state, and Optimizer 4.0 coordinates the GA 110 when it works alongside other compressors in a larger room.
Options That Extend the Package
- High ambient variant — reliable continuous operation in hot and humid climates up to 55°C / 131°F.
- Shock Pulse Measurement — continuous SPM monitoring of the compressor element and motor bearings, with alarm and shutdown levels programmed during commissioning, so overhaul happens when the bearing condition calls for it.
- Motor thermal protection — five PT-1000 temperature sensors in the main motor, two on the bearings and three in the windings, displayed on the Elektronikon with alarms and shutdowns programmed to protect the motor.
- Food grade oil — the Roto-Foodgrade oil option for packaging, pharmaceutical and food and beverage plants where occasional contact is allowed in and around food processing areas.
- Witness and performance test — factory visit and witnessing of the standard performance test in accordance with ISO 1217:2009, annex C and E (4th edition).

Applications of the GA 110
The pressure ladder shapes the application map of the GA 110. The 5.5 bar and 75 psi versions feed low pressure networks where high pressure would only waste energy, and the 7.5 to 10 bar and 100 to 150 psi versions carry general plant air, pneumatic tools, actuators and process consumers on a single machine. Ceramic, glass and mineral processing plants in particular value the low pressure band for body preparation, kiln auxiliaries and conveying duties that run at a fraction of standard line pressure.
General industry runs the GA 110 for packing, palletizing and the daily workload of a production hall. Metal plants use it for instrumentation, plant air and the pneumatic conveying of raw materials or ash, power plants keep a continuous supply for soot blowing and fly ash handling, and mining and cement operations value the IP66 drive train and the grouped service area where dust and moisture push ordinary machines to their limits.
Service and Support Around the GA 110
Service parts are grouped together for ease of access, all components are designed for serviceability, and the patented portal design opens full access to every component when greater access is required. Each component is engineered to halve the service time compared to traditional designs, which keeps uptime high over the life of the machine. Optional service plans cover repairs, preventative maintenance and spare parts, and Atlas Copco fluids and lubricants are tailored to the equipment with anti-oxidation and anti-foaming additives.
Seadweer supplies Atlas Copco spare parts and service kits for the installed base of the GA 110 and its Full Feature branches. FAQ
Is the GA 110 a fixed speed compressor?
Yes. The GA 110 runs at a fixed motor speed with load and unload control managed by the Elektronikon controller. Variable speed drive variants of the same platform are separate models with their own articles.
Is the GA 110 an oil-injected machine?
Yes. It is an oil-injected rotary screw compressor, and the oil seals and cools the compression element before the separator removes it from the air stream. Oil-free duty belongs to the separate ZR and ZT platforms.
Which pressure versions does the GA 110 come in?
Four at each frequency: 5.5, 7.5, 8.5 and 10 bar at 50 Hz, and 75, 100, 125 and 150 psi at 60 Hz. The 5.5 bar version is the dedicated low pressure band with the highest flow of the range.
How much air does the GA 110 deliver?
The FAD spans 298 to 425 l/s (631 to 901 cfm) across the four versions. The low pressure versions deliver the highest flow, and each step up the pressure ladder trades flow for pressure.
What does FF add to the GA 110?
FF stands for Full Feature: the package integrates a refrigerant dryer with a 3°C / 37°F pressure dew point and patented Save Cycle Control. The branch adds 400 mm of package length to the Pack layout.
How loud is the GA 110?
The sound pressure level is 77 dB(A) at the work station across all versions and both frequencies. The value is the A-weighted emission sound pressure level measured at the work station.

Ana Ferreira –
Our tile plant runs body preparation at low pressure and the glazing lines at a higher band, and the GA 110 pair covers both from one platform: a 5.5 bar unit on the preparation side and an 8.5 bar unit on the general line. Both machines run fixed speed exactly as the load plan expects, the Full Feature dryer holds the dew point for the glazing nozzles, and service access through the portal door keeps the weekly checks short. Seadweer quoted both versions with their spare parts in a single pass.
