Descripción
El 1092114241 is the 4.0 kW three-phase induction motor that Atlas Copco supplies for oil-injected screw compressors. It is wound for a 380 V 50 Hz supply and carried on a B5 mounting flange, and it drives the screw element through the drive arrangement of the package. The official record names it MOTOR 4KW 380V 50HZ FOR OIL INJECTED SCREW COMPRESSORS.
Every 1092114241 supplied is a complete motor. The flange, the terminal box, the cooling assembly and the shaft all arrive as one unit, so the change is a swap of a whole assembly rather than a rebuild spread over several days.
The position is recorded under three numbers. The earliest reference is 1092127304, followed by 1092127301, and the 1092114241 is the number an order is placed against today. A machine file or a nameplate written under either earlier reference describes the same position, and the replacement is supplied as the current part.

The Marking on the Frame
The frame of the 1092114241 carries a nameplate in the Atlas Copco style, and the type marking reads FF-L112M4 with the B5 flange-mounting code beside it. That marking is the quickest cross-check available at the bench: the frame size and the mounting code belong to the 4.0 kW 50 Hz build of this motor line, and a replacement whose marking agrees with the old plate is the right unit for the position.
The B5 code describes how the motor meets the machine. Instead of standing on feet, the unit hangs on a machined flange at the drive end: the flange face bolts against the compressor housing, a spigot pilot centres the motor so the shaft runs true to the element without shimming, and a bolt circle carries the clamping load. Those two surfaces, the flange face and the spigot, decide the fit, and they are the surfaces to keep protected in storage and in transit.
Reading the plate before ordering costs nothing and prevents the most common mistake in motor replacement, which is matching by power figure alone. Two motors of the same kilowatt rating can differ in frame size, mounting code and supply, and only the full marking on the plate identifies the unit that was built for the position.
One Motor Under Three Numbers
The parts system consolidated this position under the current number over time. The 1092114241 followed 1092127301, which had followed 1092127304, and the parts desk now directs every enquiry on either earlier reference to the same unit. Three numbers in one service file therefore do not describe three different motors; they record the same position at different periods.
The practical habit for a workshop is to close the loop in the file itself. When the old motor or the machine documentation shows 1092127304 or 1092127301, the order goes out as the 1092114241, and both the old and the new number are written on the same line of the record. The next person reading the file then sees the whole history in one pass, and no second enquiry is needed to work out which unit belongs in the machine.
The table in the specification section lists the data recorded for each number in the line, so the earlier references can be checked against the 1092114241 without leaving the page.

What the 4.0 kW Rating Covers
The rating describes the mechanical work the motor delivers at its shaft. In an oil-injected screw compressor that work is continuous: the machine compresses air whenever it is loaded, and the drive motor carries that load for the whole of the running period. A 4.0 kW unit of this class is sized for compact oil-injected packages, where the element, the drive and the motor are matched as one arrangement by the manufacturer, and the 1092114241 is the replacement unit supplied for that arrangement.
The three-phase induction design behind that rating is the standard choice for this duty. The stator winding builds a rotating field from the 380 V 50 Hz supply, the rotor follows the field, and the unit settles just below synchronous speed under load. There is no brush gear and no separate excitation to maintain, so the working requirements of the 1092114241 reduce to clean cooling air and bearings in good condition.
The supply figures belong to the order check in the same way as the part number. A motor delivers its rated power only on the supply it was wound for, and a different voltage or frequency changes speed, current and cooling together. The voltage and frequency on the machine nameplate are therefore read alongside the number on the old motor, and both travel with the enquiry for the 1092114241.

The Unit as Delivered and Handled
The official data lists the 1092114241 at 41 kg with a packed size of 46 × 36 × 46 cm. That weight is inside the range of normal workshop handling: the frame carries an eyebolt for lifting, and the unit moves from pallet to bench to machine without dedicated lifting gear. Nothing about the delivery of the 1092114241 needs a special arrangement at the receiving dock.
Two details of the packing deserve care at goods-in. The flange face is the machined reference for the whole drive, so its cover stays in place until the unit is at the machine, and the shaft end is likewise protected from knocks that would show up later as coupling vibration. The terminal box arrives closed with the cable entry ready for the gland, and the nameplate stays readable on the frame for the life of the unit.
Storage between delivery and fitment follows the same logic. A dry, vibration-free shelf with the flange cover on and the shaft greased where the manufacturer’s packing leaves it exposed is all the 1092114241 asks for while it waits for the planned stop.
Changing the Motor on the Machine
The change is planned when the condition of the old unit, not the calendar, calls for it. Bearing noise that grows from one reading to the next, rising vibration at the frame, a winding that trips on temperature under a load it used to carry, or damage to the flange or shaft are the signs that move the job onto the schedule.
On the day, power is isolated and proven dead before any cover comes off. The cable is removed from the terminal box with the terminal positions noted, the coupling or pulley is drawn off the old shaft, and the flange bolts are taken out so the old unit can be lifted clear on its eyebolt.
El 1092114241 is presented to the same faces the machine was built around. The spigot does the centring work, the bolt circle takes the clamp, and the coupling gap is checked against the element before anything is tightened to final torque. A flange-mounted unit such as the 1092114241 carries its own alignment reference, so no shimming is needed between motor and housing.
Rotation and current close the job. The direction of rotation is proven before the machine is closed up, because a screw element that turns backwards damages itself in seconds, and the first start is made unloaded with the current drawn compared against the record of the old unit. The readings taken that day become the baseline for the condition checks that decide the next renewal.

Preguntas frecuentes
What is the difference between 1092114241, 1092127301 and 1092127304?
They are one position recorded under three numbers from different periods. The 1092127304 is the earliest reference, 1092127301 came after it, and the 1092114241 is the current number an order is placed against today. A replacement supplied against any of the three is the same 1092114241.
What does the FF-L112M4 marking on the plate mean?
It is the type marking of the 4.0 kW 50 Hz build of this motor line, and the B5 code beside it confirms the flange mounting. The marking is the fastest cross-check at the bench: a replacement whose plate agrees with the old one is the right unit for the position.
How is the 1092114241 delivered?
As a complete motor: the flange, the terminal box, the cooling assembly and the shaft arrive as one unit packed in a 46 × 36 × 46 cm box weighing 41 kg. The flange face and the shaft end stay protected until the moment of fitment.
Which compressors use this motor?
The official record places the 1092114241 in the oil-injected screw compressor range at 4.0 kW for a 380 V 50 Hz supply. Drive arrangements differ across the builds of that range, so the parts list for your machine serial number is the record that confirms the fitment of the 1092114241.
Can I order by the power rating alone?
No. Two motors of the same kilowatt figure can differ in frame size, mounting code and supply, and the power rating does not identify any of them. The number on the old motor, or the full type marking on its plate, together with the compressor model and serial number, is what locks the order.
How do I order a replacement?
Read the number on the motor being replaced, which will show as 1092114241, 1092127301 or 1092127304, and note the model and serial number from the compressor nameplate. Send both to Seadweer and the fitment is confirmed before the order is placed.

Ewan Macrae –
The nameplate on the motor we removed carried an older reference and our maintenance file had a third, so we photographed the plate and sent it with the compressor serial number. Seadweer answered the same day that all three belonged to the same position and quoted the current number. The replacement arrived well packed with the flange face protected, bolted straight onto the machine, and has run without a remark since the changeover.
